Summer Programs at Avalon Music Academy
Bucket Drumming:
Suitable for ages 5-9 (slightly older and younger is fine)
Learn the basics of rhythm, beat, timing, ensemble playing, and performance - all without needing a drum kit!
Five-gallon buckets will be provided for use during class. Drum sticks provided for you to keep!
Classes begin on Tuesday, July 4, from 5:30-6:15pm, and run for 8 weeks.
Cost: $100

Adult Group Ukulele:
What will we learn?
➡️Strumming
➡️Chording
➡️Lots of songs to play and sing around the camp fire!
➡️All about the ukulele: tuning, changing strings, storing, etc.
Where? Avalon Music Academy, 45 Dalkeith Drive, unit 2 (upstairs)
When? Tuesdays from 4:30-5:15pm, beginning on July 4
For how long? Classes are 45 minutes/week, and the classes run for 8 weeks.
Cost? $100 (including use of a ukulele during class, if needed)
Do I need my own ukulele? We recommend that you purchase one (they are not expensive) so that you can play at home between classes. If you don’t have one, we have ukuleles that can be used during class time at no additional cost.

Group Keyboard Classes:
Learn beginner keyboarding in a small group setting. Ages 4-8.
What will students learn?
➡️Recognizing the notes on the keyboard, and introductory note reading
➡️Beginner chording
➡️Learning to play with the right hand and the left hand together
➡️Age-appropriate songs that can be played in a group, or by yourself.
Where? Avalon Music Academy, 45 Dalkeith Drive, unit 2 (upstairs)
When? Thursdays from 3-3:45pm beginning on July 13.
For how long? The program will run for 6 weeks.
Cost? $75
Do I need my own keyboard? We recommend that you have one so you can practice at home between classes. You don’t have to bring your keyboard to class. They will be set up and ready for you to play.

Kids’ Group Ukulele Classes:
Age group: 4-9
What will students learn?

➡️Age-appropriate songs that you can sing along with!

When? Thursdays from 2:00-2:45pm, beginning on July 6.
For how long? Classes are 45 minutes/week, and the classes run for 8 weeks.
Cost? $100 (including use of a ukulele during class, if needed)

There might even be a (pretend) camp fire set up, for students to play around! How much fun is that??? 😎
**Group classes may be postponed or canceled if minimum registration numbers are not met.
