Academy Agreement:

1. Fees: Fees are paid monthly, on the first of each month. Payment may be made by cash, etransfer, or credit card. Payment is due and expected no later than the first day of the month. No lessons will be taught until payment has been received, unless arrangements have been made with The Academy. Pre-authorized credit cards may be run a few days prior to the first day of the month to ensure that funds are available on the 1st.

2. Missed Lessons: IMPORTANT: Once you have registered for a lesson slot, you are required to pay the fees for that slot whether you attend the lessons or not. In conformance with the guidelines of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers’ Association, there will be NO credit adjustments for missed lessons at any time. Any missed lesson may be rescheduled, provided that notice of the missed lesson has been provided to the Academy. Missed lessons must be rescheduled within 30 days of the missed lesson. Make-up lessons must be scheduled directly with the teacher, and are subject to availability in the teacher's schedule. Make-up lessons are offered as a courtesy, and neither the Teacher nor the Academy is obligated to make up a lesson missed by a student. There are no make-ups for make-ups. If you cancel or miss a scheduled make-up lesson it is considered a forfeit, and payment is required. There is absolutely no cash value for missed lessons.

Make-up Lessons are offered to current Avalon students only.

Once you have withdrawn from regular scheduled lessons, you are not eligible for scheduling ANY makeup lesson.

This policy will be strictly enforced.

3. Each half-hour lesson slot is dedicated to instruction in one instrument only, for one student only. A single half-hour lesson may not be used to take two separate instrument lessons, nor will students be permitted to alternate between instruments weekly. A single half-hour lesson slot may not be shared by two students, either by attending at the same time or alternating the spots weekly. Instruction in more than one instrument will be considered multiple lessons and will be billed accordingly. In addition, each student attending lessons will be billed for an entire lesson slot.

4. Although Avalon Music Academy will be closed for statutory and public holidays, lessons and classes will run as usual during all school PA days.

5. Health:  Please do not send the student, or accompanying siblings, to the studio if they are ill. Your teacher and fellow students will thank you! Any lesson missed due to illness may be rescheduled within 30 days. Alternately, if the student is feeling up to it, the lesson may be taught online. Please notify the Academy at least an hour in advance if you would like your lesson to be taught online.

6. Snow Policy: Avalon Music Academy will not necessarily close on school snow days. Any weather-related closures will be recorded on the office voice mail and listed on the Avalon Facebook page.  Please remember to “Like” us for important updates, at http://on.fb.me/1ILeWVU.

7. General SafetyNo child will be allowed to leave the Academy without their parent or guardian. If someone else will be picking up your child, please let the teacher or administrator know in advance. If you do not wish to have your child featured on social media posts or in concert videos, please notify The Academy.

8. Withdrawing from Lessons: One month’s notice is required for withdrawal from lessons. Fees for the final month will remain due.

9. Classes Canceled by a Teacher: When a teacher is ill, or is otherwise unable to attend a lesson, a substitute may be brought in. If no substitute is available, the lesson will be rescheduled at a later date. In the event that a substitute teacher will be present, the Academy is NOT able to notify students in advance.

Registration implies agreement with all of the above policies.
